The Secret

This site is copy right protected

Florida law requires that all charities soliciting donations disclose their registration number and the percentage of your donation that goes to the cause and the amount that goes to the solicitor. Our registration number is CH-11409 and non-program expenses are funded from tour income, so 100% of your donations go directly to save the cats. We are a 501 c 3 charity as determined by the IRS Federal ID#59-3330495. Our 990s are available online at GuideStar.org with a complete breakdown of how your donations are spent.

Mountain Lion at Big Cat RescueENYA  Female Cougar

DOB 12/9/97

Enya was born into the pet trade. She was bottle-raised and leash trained from a very young age. Enya was filmed, when she was just 10 days old with thier mother, by a film crew from the British Broadcasting Company. The footage was included in a documentary on the Florida Everglades and the Florida Panther. Just like so many cougars that are born into the pet trade, Enya, although hand raised, grew into her natural instincts and at a year old became unhandleable. She has recently been moved to a new Cat.a.tat with a large oak tree as it’s centerpiece. Keepers hope that Enya will learn to climb this tree and enjoy it to the fullest.
