Female Bobcat1/1/1999 - 04/14/2021Date of Rescue: 9/8/2019

[audio mp3="https://bigcatrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/TomTom-Bobcat-2019.mp3"][/audio]Despite her name, Tom Tom is a female bobcat and is one of our senior citizens, born in 1999. She came to us at age 20 in 2019 with three other cats from a California facility that closed down. Vet reports from California indicated difficulty getting her to take meds.During the long drive from California she showed her grumpy nature by regularly letting out growls and what we call catterwales. When she arrived here her fur was matted. Our medical exam showed she had two cracked canines and spondylosis that may limit her ability to groom. Our vets treated her and brushed out her mats. She loved her spa day and came out looking beautiful.Unfortunately, she is believed to be in renal failure, which for many of our geriatric cats is what results in their passing on. But we hope to give her the best possible retirement for as long as we have her at Big Cat Rescue. Meantime, she can often be found atop her platform enjoying the breeze off of the lake or tucked under the saw grasses snoozing the afternoons away.Tom Tom BobcatDONATE HERE: https://bigcatrescue.salsalabs.org/Rescue/index.html

UPDATE - 9/12/2019, Afternoon

Upon arrival, around 6:00 AM she was unloaded into the cat hospital and left in her carrier for a couple of hours to rest.  She was then taken to her new enclosure.  She did as a cat often does, she took her own sweet time venturing out of her carrier. After taking a quick look around she retreated into her den to quietly watch the goings-on of the sanctuary.  We gave her the space to feel hidden.

Pretty sure you all knew who I was going to fall in love with <3 Tom Tom <3 Another little ol lady bob to love with all my heart. So far out of the 4 new cats, I see her out and about the most and she seems to have a fondness for her smaller platform but I also see her lounging in her grassy areas too. I haven't fed her yet but the few keepers that have say she is getting used to eating in her feeding lockout already <3 ~Brittany MiraPretty sure you all knew who I was going to fall in love with <3 Tom Tom <3 Another little ol lady bob to love with all my heart.
