VALMIKINAGAR: Prior to starting his Vishwas Yatra on Tuesday, CM Nitish Kumar hit the jungle terrain at Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve on Wednesday afternoon.
Forest officials, who accompanied Nitish, showed him the pug marks of a adult tigress and her cub clearly visible on the soft soil. A thrilled Nitish was caught on cameras recently fixed on trees by the forest department to conduct tiger census here. The CM was told by forest officials that the cameras fixed in different parts of the reserved have captured the movements of five tigers so far.
Trailing the pug marks of the tigress and the cub, Nitish trekked for almost 20 sq km deep inside the reserve till he reached the Gunauli forest house where he held discussions with officials accompanying him on issues related to illegal cross-border movement of people. He then met the locals who had thronged the guest house to have a glimpse of the chief minister.
