China & others urged to take action to help wild Asian big cats
LONDON: Countries with operations farming tigers and other Asian big cats must shut down such facilities and destroy stockpiled body parts and derivatives.
And China – which has the world’s greatest number of tiger farms – must terminate its ‘legal’ domestic trade in tiger and leopard skins as an indication of genuine commitment to ending the tiger trade and reducing demand.

Poacher brought them from Sundarbans to Dhaka; claims top forest boss placed order
The Rapid Action Battalion yesterday rescued three Bengal tiger cubs from a wildlife smuggler's house at Shyamoli in the capital and arrested two persons in this connection. The cubs, about two months old, had been captured in the Sundarbans.

Forest department officials arrested one person at the Coimbatore bus stand on Wednesday for possessing a tiger skin.
V.T. Kandasamy, conservator of forests, toldDeccan Chronicle that the special team of assistant conservator of forests Jeyaraj and range forest officer Natrajan besides forest guards during a patrol found the culprit moving in a suspicious manner and recovered a tiger cub skin from him.
