Tiger park plan under fire
GEORGE TOWN: After causing an uproar over a proposed tiger park plan, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has suddenly gone all quiet on the project. Now, the state Gerakan wants to know whether he will proceed with the project. State Gerakan treasurer Ng Fook On said Lim, who proposed the project in March, had asked the public to submit their views on the matter.
“Well, it is now two months but the public has yet to know if the project will proceed.
“As it will be a joint venture between the state government and the private sector, people have the right to know what is going on.”
Ng said the state Gerakan was also against the project.
“We are concerned with the people’s safety as placing tigers in the vicinity of a residential area is inviting danger.
“We urge the state government to listen to the voices of the people who want the project cancelled.”
