Today at Big Cat Rescue Dec 12 2013

Join the Global March for Lions Community Page and stand with us against this horrific “industry”. You will find all the marches listed below (more cities/towns will be added as the events pages are put up and we are recruiting more as we go along). Please keep an eye on this post to find and join the march closest to you!

Big Cat Rescue will lead a march on March 15, 2014.  De-tails to come, but I’m thinking a family day march through the sanctuary to meet our lions at a much reduced cost to people who take action to save lions by calling their member of congress about HR 1998 – S1381 the Big Cats and Public Safety Protection Act.

Love it?

December 12th is BOB BARKER’S 90th BIRTHDAY

The legendary Emmy Award-winning host ofThe Price is Right has transformed the lives of countless animals across the globe and he has enabled Animal Defenders International to investigate animal abuse, get new laws for animals and, for the first time in the world, clear a whole country, Bolivia, of circus animals.

Jan Creamer, President and founder of ADI says:

“On behalf of all the animals of the world, huge Happy 90th Birthday wishes to the legendary Bob Barker, a true pioneer of animal rights.

“Bob Barker’s philanthropic contributions to animal protection have been vital to the success of Animal Defenders International and others like us. But, importantly, the award also recognized Mr. Barker as a leading and articulate voice for suffering animals in the world.

“Happy Birthday and on behalf of the animals of the world, thank you, Bob Barker.”

In celebration of his birthday Bob Barker will be returning to host The Price is Right on  December 12, and CBS This Morning will also air a special segment about Mr. Barker and his work for animals.

Make sure you tune in and also watch out for ADI’s tributes to Bob Barker, which we will be posting on Facebook and Twitter throughout the day on the 12th.

We would be pleased to pass along a birthday greeting from you! Please email us at:      usa@ad-international.org and we will compile and forward the greetings to Mr. Barker.

Tiger Nation

Can India really afford old age homes for grizzly and aged tigers, if it’s also finding it hard enough to find the funds to keep the wild populations safe. As this captured tiger now faces its remaining life incarcerated in a zoo, the issue poses a horrid moral dilemma to the Karnataka Forest Department.
