4:07 P.M. — The body of a 3-year-old female panther, killed by a car, was found on US 41 in Ochopee Friday afternoon.
It is the 15th panther to die this year and the 12th killed by a vehicle.
The body was found two miles east of the historic Monroe Station.
The remains will be sent to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Wildlife Research Lab in Gainesville for necropsy. The remains will then be archived at the Florida Museum of Natural History.
