8th Florida panther roadkill death of 2008

FWC reports a dead panther in Hendry County

HENDRY COUNTY: Wildlife officials say a Florida panther was killed by a vehicle on SR80 east of CR833 in Hendry County.
 
It was an uncollared male approximately 2-3 years old.
 
The carcass was transported to Gainesville where a necropsy will be performed.
 
The remains will be archived at the Florida Museum of Natural History.
 
This is the 18th mortality (excluding 2 neonates found dead in the den) for 2008 and 8th road kill for the year.
