The latest scramble among politicians to procure lions was witnessed in the run-up to the general elections on July 25, 2018. In a phone interview, Wains says he sold as many as 12 white lions and 19 brown lions between the months of April and July this year to different Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidates in various parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. “I do not share the PMLN’s political ideology but the party was good for my business.”

    A lion for pet? This is totally irresponsible and awfully cruel: look at the lion’s face in the picture. I feel absolutely sorry for him.
