Adopt an amorous Amur Tiger

Adopt an amorous Amur Tiger

TWO amorous Amur Tigers are being put up for adoption by Colchester Zoo – for Valentine’s Day.

The popular scheme allows any of the animals at the Essex zoo to be adopted.
The pair of Amur Tigers, Anoushka and Igor, are inseparable and are very much in love, the zoo said.

They can often be seen sitting together and playing together at their enclosure, Tiger Taiga, since being introduced to each other in October 2006.

Most tigers are difficult to introduce to each other as they can live solitary lives in the wild, so need to be introduced to each other very slowly and carefully.

However, Anoushka and Igor hit it off immediately and now hate to be separated.

And the zoo said it was very much hoped that they would breed for the first time this year.
Visitors can chose to adopt either Anoushka or Igor and can opt for either a bronze, silver or gold adoption package.

They can opt to have a photograph of the special couple, a personalised Valentine certificate, a species profile, and tickets for a romantic visit to Colchester Zoo.

For more information about the Valentine adoptions call 01206 331292 or visit www.colchester-zoo.co.uk.
