Magazines for the Big Cats

Well, the cats haven’t learned to read yet, but you sure can benefit them by ordering a magazine. Each time you order a magazine, part of the proceeds go to the big cats. Is there a favorite magazine you always seem to pay full price for at the grocery check out? You can have it delivered to your mailbox much more affordably and consistently. Think your dad may want Car and Driver for Christmas, or your mom Cooking Light, just because? It’s a great reason to give and we sure appreciate it.

Calendar Cats

You don’t have to look far to get ahold of the most stunning and unique calendar out there to grace your office or home. You have many choices in the stores, but this one really benefits the cats and you get get it easily on-line. We’ve mentioned to you before that a former volunteer spent two years compiling the shots and negotiating this beautiful calendar on our behalf. It is available around the globe on Amazon.com, Borders.com and BarnesAndNoble.com.¬† This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to let the cats share their stories with the world. We want to remind you that you can purchase them as gifts or for your own desk. The more that are purchased, the bigger the statement to the calendar company about our worthiness to be feautured again. They are waiting to see how sales go. Let’s show them how much the cats mean to us. It’s win-win!

Wild About Education?

Do you love opening students’ eyes to the world around them in fun and meaningful ways? It’s one of our favorite things to do. We love kids and know that the future of all wildlife rests in their ability to discern and care. However, kids can’t care about that which they don’t understand. We can help with this understanding at an early level. We are ready to hire a new Education Director and are accepting applications.¬† We are looking for someone who has a background in teaching so that we may better adapt our programs to the FCAT needs of the teachers.¬† We will teach you all you need to know about the cats and the sanctuary, but we need your experience in the school system, and knowledge about how we can bring our education program to the next level.¬† The successful applicant needs to be adept at creating compelling lesson plans and teaching aids for the teachers to use in the classrooms before and after the outreach programs or field trips.¬† This is a full time position, and the person must love children and have an interest in cultivating an appreciation for nature, conservation and compassion for all creatures. E-mail Carole Baskin if this sounds like a job for you.¬† Info@bigcatrescue.org

While we’re talking kids, we’d like to mention a special kids’ tour which will be held on Monday Dec. 26th at 1:00 pm for only $10. Come be a part.
