Big Cat Updates

Vet News

Mary Ann Bobcat was found by feeders this AM with a large wound on her side. She was rushed to the Humane Society where Dr. Justin Boorstein and his team cleaned up the wound and sutured it closed. She woke up from surgery well and will recover in the hospital for 2 weeks. It appears as though she may have been snagged on a tree branch.

Max and MaryAnn over very active and always looking for mischief to get into.  Keepers are watching MaryAnn closely and monitoring her recovery.  They also went over their suite of cages in great detail looking for anything she may have hurt herself on.

Coordinator Report – Devin Saari

Today was a very busy day and started out quite chilly in the morning

We were a bit short on volunteers today but we all pitched in to get feeding, cleaning, and projects done. Food-prep was finished before lunch thanks to Tanya Chute. Sharon Henryhanded out the cicles and Mary Gagliordi made some new ones!

There were a few projects completed today.

-Caity Farr, Jeanine Ramirez, Bridget Sardone, and Devin Saari added limestone to fill a hole on Max and Mary Ann’s den.

-Caity Farr, Jeanine Ramireze, and Brooklynne Dillon removed a platform from Max and Mary Ann’s enclosure.

-Tanya Chute, Bridget Sardone, and Ashley Tait worked a tiger enclosure.

Mary Ann Bobcat had a cut on her side this morning so she was taken to the Humane Society to be fixed up by Dr. Justin. She is now recovering in the hospital and is doing well.

That’s all for today!
-Devin Saari
