Big Cat Updates
Right now we have a contest going on a Razoo where we can win prize money and we have a match for donations, but it has to be done on Razoo’s platform. Many people ask me how much of their donation ends up going to Razoo for credit card processing. Here is the lowdown:
Razoo, when it first started only charged the 2.9% credit card fee. Over time they raised their fee to 7.9% so we generally stopped using them and went to a different portal (Salsa) that is on our website.
We use Razoo for Give Day Tampabay and some other contest days because we can earn prizes that make it worth the extra fees.
Our preferred method of getting donations is Salsa but it won’t count toward the match or the contest on Razoo right now: 2.89% + $0.20 per transaction. https://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/51389/p/salsa/donation/common/public/?donate_page_KEY=9319
PayPal: 2.9% plus $0.30
Sending a check is even more expensive, unless it is over a few thousand dollars, because when it arrives, someone has to open the mail and then hand it off to someone who records it and then hand it off to someone who takes it to the bank to deposit. Those are all paid staff, so by the time you calculate the amount of time they are spending to handle a check, it’s not as cost efficient as donating online and paying a modest credit card processing fee.

Today, I will be taking the following kittens back to the Humane Society:
I will pick them up in the afternoon from the Cabana.
Keeper Brittany Mira: Smalls bobcat has the cutest and fluffiest bobcat tail I have ever seen! She is such a princess!
Keeper Brittany Mira: Smalls Bobcat absolutely LOVES enrichment. Her favorite so far are spice bags and tubes. She does really good with operant conditioning too!
Keeper Brittany Mira: Smalls bobcat has the most incredible amber eyes!
2016: Often times in our videos, our big cats look friendly and cute, but they are still wild animals. Many times our big cats like to prove that to us and show us who is boss!!
2014: How do lions, tigers and leopards stay cool and refreshed during the summer? … Big Cat Popsicles of course!
People Often Ask: How do you tell Jade & Armani, leopard sisters, apart?
Jade – The spotted pattern on head forms a V. Her eyes are more round. Her muzzle can be lighter, but not always.
Armani – The spots on her head are jumbled. She usually has a darker muzzle, but not always. Her eyes are less round.
