Coordinator Report – Lauren Buckingham
Today turned out to be a very hectic day.
Hoover and Mary Ann were both seen by Dr. Justin. Hoover is in the outside recovery hospital whilst he recovers from toe surgery. Alyssa E., Megan, and Bonnie helped in the hospital with Hoover’s procedure.
The side of Bailey and Moses’ enclosure, closest to the gift shop, was cleaned up thanks to Candy, Alyssa E., Megan, Bethany, Matt, and the interns, at different points in the day.
. Bethann did PM sicles. Alyssa W. came in and did PM supplements and snacks. Christina and Bethany finished food prep before lunch.
Cleaning, operant, and enrichment sign-offs were done.
Thank you to everyone that came in today to help out with cleaning, feeding and all other aspects of the day! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Hoover Tiger was still experiencing discomfort in his paw and was seen in the Windsong Memorial Hospital by Dr. Justin Boorstein. A short while back Hoover was in the hospital for an overgrown claw. When cats get older they do not shed their claws as well. Even this is age related because he’s so old he doesn’t shred his claws enough on the trees and platform.
Recap by Dr. Justin: At the time of the claw trims, he feared this nail may be dead but he was 2 hours in already and didn’t want to amputate a toe on top of all that. He hoped the antibiotics would work, but looks like the nail was dead, so it’s got to go.
Wild rehab bobcat, Sky, has her paws full with this little kitten. SO Cute, SO adorable, and SO LOUD!
BUT MOM!!! Oh, Sky Bobcat’s little kittens are busy little rascals. That one, just cracks me up, so active and vocal!
Wild rehab bobcat, Sky and her kittens. Oh, that one little kitten is a stinker!
It’s hard to explore when your legs are shorter than the grass and logs. Sky, the wild rehab bobcat, has the cutest babies. I look forward to seeing these babies grow up to be returned to the wild as a family.
