Coordinator Report – Afton Tasler
Very short-handed today, but the volunteers that came in really made it happen!!!
Thank you to Taylor Tyree for backing up the group tour today! That was very helpful since all of the keepers were tied up getting feeding and cleaning done. Also, thank you to the afternoon partners and the keepers that stayed later to help with afternoon tours.
Tanya Chute was available this afternoon to help me with a bunch of little projects, and to help me with Tut in the hospital. We did a few things for Jamie, and then we picked up a couple of truck loads of branches that got trimmed in leopards. There is still a bit more, but we got the majority of it.
Bobcat Rehab
Rehab Bobcat mom, Sky, and her kittens are doing great! The kittens are starting to explore outside of the den and mom is taking really good care of them. Kittens weights 4/24/2019 are Cobalt – 21.8 oz, Azul – 16.05 oz, Indigo – 18.2 oz Learn more at BigCatRescue.org/sky/
Kristine’s Overnight Bobcat Rehab Report
Sky was more active overnight last night. She still slept with the babies a lot, but did come out a couple of times and desperately tried to find a way out again.
She saw Alpha and tried to dig her way out, before climbing on the swinging log to watch her some more and try to find a way out up above. She also tried to find a way out on the left side.
The babies didn’t come out at all overnight. I just saw them in the den opening with Sky and then when she got out this morning they were curled up there in the opening. So cute!
Sky’s been sitting out on the swing watching things this morning. 🙂
