ACTION ALERT
Calling all big cat advocates in the Portland, OR and Ridgefield, WA areas – Join us for a peaceful protest against cub petting this Saturday!
Big Cat Rescue supports a peaceful protest that will be taking place outside the Clark County Fair on SATURDAY, AUGUST 5 — from noon to 3:00 pm. The organizers are protesting A Walk on the Wild Side’s cub petting exhibit at the fair taking place from August 4-15. This Portland-area roadside zoo has a long history of exploitation of big cats and serious violations of the Animal Welfare Act. http://911animalabuse.com/a-walk-on-the-wild-side/
We hope you can join us! Bring your own signs or hold the ones that we will have on hand! Questions? Please email Susan.Bass@BigCatRescue.org

Keeper Corner
Keeper Honey says “I’m a shade tree. Get it? I’m a shade tree” this is how the Keepers take care of the Rehab Bobcats.
Keeper Afton: Most people think they can tell the difference between a bobcat and a lynx because of their ear tufts, but bobcats like Tiger Lily can have ear tufts as well.
Keeper Afton: These two lion boys have a special place in my heart. They do not seem to like very many people, but they chose to like me, and that really brightens my world!!

How Big Cat Rescue got started: WARNING: Graphic images! When I was asked to do a presentation about how Big Cat Rescue got started and how we used entrepreneurial tactics to build and grow, I created a Power Point presentation. We’ve talked about our history and growth in text before, but never a video, so I thought you might want to see it. The presentation was being done to MBA students and at the end I would hand off to Howie to talk about running a non profit like a for profit, and his presentation doesn’t have a Power Point or video yet, so that part is To Be Continued…
