Big Cat Updates
We feed out about 500 pounds of meat everyday, so as you can imagine that is a lot of meat to move each day from the freezer to the walk-in cooler for thawing. Meat is always thawed in the walk-in cooler as we do not give the cats frozen meat and that is not good for them.
Lauren Buckingham’s Coordinator Report for Monday 8/21/2017
Today was a very busy day and we were short handed for cougar/big cat cleaners.
Little dove and Will both saw Dr Justin. Little dove is back out in her enclosure. Will is staying in the hospital overnight for observation.
Little doves enclosure was cleaned up before she went out, the roof cleaned off, weedwacked and a dead tree cut down.
Cyrus and Chaos were reintroduced. They seem to be doing well but MUST be separated for feeding.
Joseph got ice cream for his bday and had everyone sing happy birthday to him this evening.
Dryden, Jade and Armani got their vaccines. Dr Justin also looked at Mac.
We got a mush delivery….YAY! Everyone chipped in to off load 150 cases into the freezer.
What is mush? It is a groups mixture that has been fortified with vitamins etc. Feline Complete Diet: Beef muscle meat, KanTech Feline Complete vitamin/mineral premix.

Learn more about what we feed the cats at: http://bigcatrescue.org/feed-cats/ We purr-chace high quality lean meats. We do not feed the cheaper fatty cuts because those are not what is best f0r the cats.
Join us as we celebrated Joseph the lion’s 19th birthday. We sang to him, and gave him his favorite treat of vanilla ice cream. Check it out! BigCatTV.com

WOW, L@@K What YOU Did!
Big Cat Rescue just received $6,228.74 donation from the AmazonSmile Foundation as a result of AmazonSmile program activity between April 1 and June 30, 2017.
When you #StartWithaSmile, Amazon donates 0.5% of the purchase price to Big Cat Rescue. Bookmark the link http://smile.amazon.com/ch/59-
People Often Ask: What is Amazon Smile?
Answer: It is a wonderful way to support the cats at no cost to you is to go to your Amazon.com account and sign up for Amazon Smile to have .5% of your purchases donated to Big Cat Rescue.
It is easy to set up. Once you do, instead of going to Amazon.com to shop, in the future you go to Smile.Amazon.com. Everything at Smile is exactly the same as you are used to at Amazon, same products, same prices. If you have a Prime account, it will still be there in Smile. The ONLY difference is that .5% of your purchases are donated by Amazon to Big Cat Rescue – ZERO cost to you, but it sure adds up for the cats.
To sign up for Smile just go to https://smile.amazon.com/ch/59-3330495 and log in with your usual Amazon ID and password.
Once you have signed up, you should go to Smile.Amazon.com to make your purchases instead of Amazon.com. Just typing Smile into your browser instead of Amazon should take you there, or bookmark the URL, or, after you select Big Cat Rescue, you may see a screen like the one below inviting you to download a shortcut to Smile.Amazon.com.
Want to access your Smile account from an iPhone or iPad? Easy!
- Open Safari and go to Smile.Amazon.com
- Log in with your Amazon login
- Hit the SHARE icon at the bottom of the screen (the square with the arrow pointing up)
Hit the Add to Home Screen icon (the square with rounded edges with the + sign in it)
You will see an icon direct to your Smile account (including Prime if you have it) on your phone’s home screen.
If you have the regular Amazon app on your phone, it is a good idea to delete it so you do not forget and go there.
Smile.Amazon.com works the same as Amazon.com and has all the same products. The only difference is that it sends a half percent of your purchase to Big Cat Rescue. This has become a meaningful source of support that you can add to at no cost to you. Please sign up and urge people you know to do so.
THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has chosen to support the cats through their normal Smile.Amazon purr-chases!! YOU ARE Making A Difference!!

NOW HEAR THIS!
All male cats, head for your dens and do NOT come out until tomorrow!
Everybody is making a big deal out of this “e-clips” thing. I don’t know for sure what it is, but I can tell you this. The last time I heard anything about something being “clipped” I was taken to the hospital and came back singing soprano! And then to make matters worse, pictures were posted on the internet of my male parts lying on a pink towel. A PINK TOWEL!!!
Run, men, run and hide. DO NOT come out until tomorrow, no matter what! Save yourselves!!!
