I noticed on Bing today there is an image of a mother lion and her cubs. Adorable! But I started looking at different pictures of them and came across a place in Gaza that has lions cubs up for sale.

“Gaza zookeeper forced to sell lion cubs, one named in honor of Erdoğan”

I realize that we can’t save every big cat in the world. I wish it were possible but this was disturbing to see and wanted to share this. Thank you for all you do at BCR.

I’m so thankful for you, Carol Baskin, for starting your beautiful sanctuary for these majestic cats. I agree that these beautiful big cats as well as other wild animals do not belong in someone’s backyard or home. You can remove the animal out of the wild but you can’t remove the wild out of the animal. There was yet another incident of a man in a tiger area in a zoo, and he was bitten by the tiger. Thankfully the tiger is still alive. People need to respect these beautiful majestic animals and stay a healthy safe distance away. Thank you again for all you do for your beautiful big cat family.

I found a post about a 3 legged bobcat and the video is heartbreaking. This baby’s leg was not amputated by a doctor. Also it looks rather thin. I can’t get the video to copy but here is the information. Wildlife control may have been called but I’m not sure. I just know that this cat needs help. Thank you!!

The sanctuary is currently closed due to COVID because big cats can and have contracted COVID in facilities around the world and some have died. We are not taking chances on them being exposed or exposing our keepers. You can watch the cats on our cameras at BigCatCams.com. You can read all of our cats bios at BigCatRescue.org/catbio and watch our videos at YouTube.com/BigCatRescue. Watch our website for updates to any future reopening at BigCatRescue.org.
