HENDERSONVILLE – Charges were filed against AnimaLogic, a downtown exhibition venue for exotic animals.
The District Attorney’s office charged the facility for failing to properly register with the Health Department the maintaining of certain animals on the site. The charge is a misdemeanor.
On Sept. 26, Hendersonville Police responded to a complaint and found 13 dead animals in a dumpster. The animals were sent for necropsies but due to their state of decomposition, the cause of their deaths could not be determined. Other animals were removed from the building.
A release from the District Attorney’s office said there was insufficient evidence to file animal cruelty charges. The release also stated that the United States Department of Agriculture is investigating whether AnimaLogic had the licenses necessary to exhibit exotic animals.
