I was recently sent an email filled with pictures of what appears to be adorable white tiger cubs with their surrogate chimp “mom.” The sender asked, “how do I reply to this?” If you should get this email, would you please NOT forward along those photos and send something like this instead? Julie
T.I.G.E.R.S. in South Carolina – what type of organization is this?
A quick visit to T.I.G.E.R.S. website at http://www.tigerfriends.com/ will quickly reveal whether this truly is a conservation organization or, in reality, a for-profit business based on animal suffering. They breed white ligers – that’s about as low as you can go in terms of indifference for animals. They will let you touch the animals (today’s headline was someone being mauled to death by a liger in Oklahoma – good idea touching these guys – right?) and they will even let you take pictures with them – another insane idea in terms of safety, not to mention that they just breed more and more for this enterprise. They breed and provide animals for the entertainment industry, too – need I say, another horrible practice? Animals that result from all of these practices are who fill the cages at accredited sanctuaries – eventually.
All in all, this is about as low a place as you can possibly find in terms of misleading the public. It goes without saying that they are NOT accredited, are a pariah in the true sanctuary world. All people have to do is go to one page http://bigcatrescue.org/cats/wild/white_tigers.htm and read the facts on just ONE of these practices and you’ll realize the caliber of this “organization.” They are making money from the suffering of animals; i.e. animal abusers!
Please do not pass these photos along through the internet. All it does is fuel the industry and result in the suffering of more and more innocent animals. That’s how they get you, with these oooooh – aaaaaaah pictures entitled “White tigers find new Momma” that make you want to believe they’re good guys when, in fact, nothing could be farther from the truth!!
THIS ONE PICTURE SAYS IT ALL, A WOMAN WHO IS MAKING MONEY FROM BREEDING AND MISLEADING THE PUBLIC!
