SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) – Finalizing the 2011 hunting season on mountain lions is on Thursday’s agenda for the monthly meeting of the Game, Fish and Parks Commission.
Included is a proposal for a new season within Custer State Park that would allow hunters to kill five lions. The main season in the rest of the Black Hills would set a season limit of 45 lions or a subquota of 30 female lions.
Both seasons would open Jan. 1.
The commission meets Thursday and Friday at Spearfish Canyon Lodge in the northern Black Hills.
