Big Cat Health Updates
The vet has decided that Hoover Tiger can’t swim till Saturday. Sorry, everyone who have been missing him at explore.org/bigcatrescue
Priya Tiger’s temporary holding cage is almost ready so she can move out to a nicer part of the sanctuary, before Gabrielle’s surgery.
I just got in from an epic enrichment day with a huge group of volunteers and interns who enriched all of the cats in a couple of hours. You can see it all on the two live feeds today at Facebook.com/bigcatrescue
Our latest power couple, Nabisco and Mrs Claws are getting along great and enjoyed some rosemary filled paper towel tubes together today.
Not Getting Facebook Notifications?
A devout big cat fan said, “I think I have found the problem:
Facebook changed some things around so we are not getting notifications of when BCR (Carole) goes live.
If you have liked BCR’s page an arrow will show up on LIKED.
Mouseover Liked and a dropdown window comes up.
There you see 2 options (IN YOUR FEED and NOTIFICATIONS) make sure All ON is checked
in addition ckick on the word notification and a larger menu will open.
Make sure the ALL LIVE POSTS is checked.
This should get us our notifications again for live broadcats. Please let me know if this does not work for you and I will continue looking for answers.”

Great American Teach In Report
On the same day as five tigers were on the tail end of their road trip to our sanctuary in central Florida, Big Cat Rescue volunteers and staff members were checking-in at schools throughout Tampa Bay to participate in this year’s Great American Teach-In. Equipped with poop buckets, used Boomer balls, tooth replicas, and paw reliefs, our rescuers spoke with children about the day-to-day work that goes into providing the best care we can for 80 cats.
All in all, we shared stories with over 1,700 students at 28 schools in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties. That’s a Big Cat record! Teaching the next generation about big cats and the issues they face in captivity is just the first step. We also need to teach our children about respecting these cats for the wild animals they are and give them the information they need to turn their passion into action. It’s never too young to be a voice for big cats, and all animals. During the Great American Teach-In and on every day of the year we hope to inspire tomorrow’s leaders to also be today’s AdvoCats.

Cats VS Birds
Birds on remote South Atlantic islands are sometimes better off with cats than without them. Purging cats from South Atlantic islands often harms birds more than helps them.
