Drop in tiger population a big challenge: Chouhan

Bhopal, Oct 1 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that drop in tiger population during the past few years was posing a big challenge to the country.

“Protection of wildlife, especially the fall in tiger population, has emerged as a major challenge in the country over the years,” Chouhan said on the eve of Wildlife Week beginning today.

The need of the hour is to increase awareness about wildlife conservation among the common man and involve them in similar works, he said.

The Chief Minister urged the people to strengthen the hands of various agencies engaged in wildlife conservation.
