FRANKFORT — Ever heard of a liger?

It’s a cross between a tiger and a lion, and you can see one of them at the Herkimer County Fair this week, event treasurer Gerry Elthorp said.

The ligers will be among the animals at a new circus the fair is featuring this year.
The fair, which begins today, will have an array of new events in addition to old favorites, Elthorp said.
