Coordinator Report – Lauren Buckingham
Great day today! It was very productive and also lots of fun!
The other half of Running Bear Bobcat’s enclosure and around the outside was cleaned up thanks to Mary J, Candy, Michael, & Tanya. He was given back access at the end of the day.
We were also able to get to Gabrielle Tiger’s enclosure later in the day. Myself, MC, Michael, Candy, Fred, & Tanya worked on it whilst the other interns finished up tours and did chores.
Mazz and Mary J did food prep before lunch.
We sent out a large number of tours in the afternoon in addition to the private tours in the morning.
Bethann made sure the cicle cats got their afternoon treats.
Phyllis, Mike, and Mary Lou, Monday regulars, came out to help clean and train new cleaners.
A meat inventory was done and Kathryn was notified about the items we are low on.
Enrichment and operant sign-offs were done. Keepers were also given the chance to work with their assigned cats.

These magnificent big cats should be living wild and free, some with ranges of hundreds of square miles. Since they are not free it is very important to regularly give them fun things to do, see, smell, and play with to avoid stress and boredom.
