Joseph to see the vets on Friday.

NEW REHAB BOBCAT – Aphrodite, the new rehab bobcat, has been moved outside to the rehab enclosure that Cooper had been in.  She will get her exam and blood work done on Friday, as well.  GOOD NEWS:  She pooped this morning which made Carole and the team quite happy.  We needed a poop sample for testing.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Joseph to See Vets on Friday” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” google_fonts=”font_family:Open%20Sans%20Condensed%3A300%2C300italic%2C700|font_style:300%20light%20regular%3A300%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]HEADS UP —> Friday, Dr. Justin will be here to sedate and examine Joseph because he just simply refuses to eat and in general acts like he does not feel well. Keepers have tried everything they can think of to get him to eat. We are worried about Joseph. Given his age of 19, end stage kidney disease is of concern. Dr. Miller will also be here to look at his eyes again.

Currently, there are two more bobcats in rehab that we hope will eventually be able to have the same freedom that Teuci got today.

  1. Noel – Hit by a car on Christmas Day and had 3 broken bones in two legs.  https://BigCatRescue.org/Noel/ She is still in the recovery hospital.
  2. Aphrodite – Found at a rehabbers gate on Valentine’s Day.  They called us to pick up the cat.  Watcher on the high quality Bobcat Rehab cam.  Find the link at BigCatCams.com

[/ultimate_modal][vc_column_text]This morning, before their normal breakfast, Keeper Kathryn went around giving the cats a snack that had their flea prevention pill hidden inside it.  Some of them ate the snack with no trouble, but…. some of them tasted the pill and said, “NO WAY!”  Through Keeper Kathryn’s patience and encouragement, all the cats finally ate the snack, getting their pill down.

The breakfast carts came around after the video giving the cats their big yummy breakfasts to wash down the yucky taste of meds.[/vc_column_text][ultimate_modal modal_on=”image” btn_img=”id^103475|url^http://bigcatrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Seth-Tiger-waiting-for-breakfast.jpg|caption^Seth Tiger waiting for breakfast|alt^Seth Tiger waiting for breakfast|title^Seth Tiger waiting for breakfast|description^null” overlay_bg_opacity=”80″ img_size=”80″]

Babycakes on Valentine’s Day – I was contemplating taking this portion of the cat tree out. I have never seen him climb this ladder, and I was afraid he would not be able to get down. Well this old guy is full of surprises!! I wish the camera caught the surprised expression on my face…my jaw just dropped!  ~Keeper Afton

Did You Know? Here at Big Cat Rescue, literally 100% of your donations are spent directly ON THE CATS!!! We are able to adhere to that strict policy because the other sanctuary expenses, administrative expenses, salaries etc come out of tour fees and other sources of income. We are extremely serious about donations being used JUST FOR THE CATS!

Because of adhering to that strict policy regarding donations, and all of the other ways Big Cat Rescue is transparent in our operations, we have earned Charity Navigator‘s highest 4-star rating for “sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency” EVERY YEAR since we were first evaluated by them in 2010.

Would you consider doing a Facebook Fundraiser for the cats? It is really easy to set up a Facebook Fundraiser. Facebook collects the funds and send it directly to the sanctuary. You do not have to do anything except post it on your wall.

How can I do a Facebook Fundraiser for the cats? Here is a link with step by step, easy to follow instructions with screenshot showing you how. https://BigCatRescue.org/facebook-fundraiser/[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
