Volunteer Awards Party 2018 Feb

Big Cat Updates

Kathyrn Stapleton’s Coordinator Notes for 2/23/2018

Hot day today, but had a lot of great volunteers!!  Thanks to everyone that came out to help, we had a lot of tours today.

Almost all the old Christmas trees were removed from little cat cages today (thanks to Devin and Alyssa for helping!!)

Enrichment signoffs were done cleaning signoffs as well.

Picky cats did okay. Cameron was liking chicken thighs today. Joseph is still being very picky

Nikki Lion is on meds twice a day so we need to split her meal so she gets an am and pm diet.

That’s it for me.

Lauren Grant’s Coordinator Notes for 2/22/2018

We had lots of volunteer help today!  Cleaning and feeding were done by 1:00 pm & sign offs were done for both.

Manny and Priya were moved in the morning and both Vacation and Funcation were weed-eated and mowed.

Keisha and Natalia were moved into the Vacation and Funcation, respectively. They both moved fairly quickly, which was great!

Lakota and Sioux’s enclosure was finished today. Some new dirt was put in. Lakota was stressed this morning from the previous days work, so he did not eat until later in the afternoon.

Most of the golf carts were scrubbed and rinsed, including the tour golf carts, so they will hopefully look better for our probably busy tour weekend.

Most of the picky’s ate well, especially later in the day since it’s gotten so warm out.

That’s about it!  -Lauren Grant

Volunteer Awards & Balloon Rides

This is in 360 so scroll around or move your phone to feel like you are right there with us! Once a year volunteers all vote on their favorite keepers and partners. Join us for a fun afternoon of great food, and appreciation. Stay tuned because Part 2 includes balloon rides. Click on screen to begin the video.

Balloon Rides for dedicated volunteers!  This huge team of volunteers are such a pleasure to work with because they are here caring for these cats because they truly care about them.  All cat care is done by unpaid volunteers!

They work so hard and give these cats their all.  It is nice to see them come together for a fun afternoon of socializing, relaxing, and play.

A Tiger Has Cancer Removed Keeper Afton has put together a short overview and update.
