Wildcat Walkabout 2019

UPDATE: There ARE still tickets available, see the link below.

We have had to Split the tickets into several reservation groups, Walkabout 2 is open and available to reserve. http://bigcatrescue.org/safari-days/

Do Not Be Concerned about the time, the walkabout times are all the same. JUST REMEMBER WHICH GROUP YOU SIGNED UP UNDER AS THIS IS HOW YOU WILL CHECK IN UPON ARRIVAL.

Sorry for the confusion I will add more groups as needed to get in 700 guests. Reserve your tickets early because this event sells out every day.

Gate opens at 11 am for guests to arrive, Sanctuary opens at noon till 3 for visiting the cats. The last Guest will be admitted at 2:15 pm to tour path.

Coordinator Report – Lauren Buckingham

Great day today, we were a little short-handed compared to a normal Monday but still had enough people to get everything done.

Interns Caity and Moe took their small cat cleaning classes first thing. Mazz, Tanya, and Steph C got food prep done and cleaned up. Candy gave all the cats their cicles. Fred did PM snacks and supplements.

Today was ivermectin and all of the cats that needed it got it. Thank you to everyone that came in to help feed.

Picky cats ate well

We sent out three 3 pm tours in the afternoon and had lots of happy guests.

Andre got some amazing enrichment for the DoDo, he had a blast!! Even Amanda joined in for a quick few minutes and came to check it out

Thank you Barb N for covering the 9 am private tour so I didn’t have to pull cleaners. Thanks also to Diana for taking out an unplanned private tour and staying to help with the 3 pm tour.

Operant was done by a number of keepers and some sign-offs were also done.

Big Cat Vets

Frankie Bobcat arrived at Big Cat Rescue in 2018. Frankie was a relinquished pet, that spent many years at another facility, that was dedicated primarily to rehab and release before he came here to his forever home. Frankie is 12 years old and a relatively small amount is known about his health and background, so Dr. Wynn came out to give him a full exam, and also to neuter him as we do not breed here at the sanctuary. Watch his exam here in 360 VR!
