A message from Harrison Ford and Conservation International.
Together we can protect every acre.

CI’s long-time board member, Harrison Ford, has created a brand new Public Service Announcement to draw attention to the fact that destroying tropical forests affects all of us, no matter where we live. To emphasize the point, Harrison undergoes a hair-raising experience of his own – the waxing of a swath of his chest hair to symbolize the hurt of forest destruction.

Watch the Harrison Ford PSA.

The burning and clearing of tropical forests emits at least 20 percent of the greenhouse gases that cause climate change. That’s more than all the world’s cars, trucks, and airplanes combined. The result is changing rainfall patterns, rising ocean levels, and increased droughts.

But we can stabilize our climate by protecting tropical forests and all the life they contain – even if it’s just one acre at a time.

Please help protect an acre starting at $15. That’s right, for just $15 you can support CI's efforts to protect an acre of tropical forest. These forests are home to more than half the species of life on Earth and provide vital goods and services such as clean air, fresh water, food and medicines.  Protecting tropical forests helps those people living in and near them, and all of us no matter where we live.

Any time we lose an acre of tropical forest, the loss is felt around the world. We feel it in our countries, our cities and even in our own backyards.

Learn how protecting forests can mitigate the effect of climate change.
