For more information or to schedule a private group tour, please contact the Director of Outreach, Jennifer Leon, at Education@bigcatrescue.org.
The benefits of scheduling a group tour are that you have the tour guide to yourselves and are not sharing the tour with people you don’t know. Our regular Day Tours are typically 20 people and do not allow children under the age of 10, except on Kids Tours.
Hello, I would like to book a private tour for four adults and our kids. The youngest is 7. Is this old enough?
What do tours include? Any feeding or care demonstrations? Are there animals at your facility besides the cat family?
Thank you!
Jackie
We arrange day trips for senior citizens and have had many requests for a visit to the Big Cat Sanctuary. I am currently beginning to formulate our itinerary for 2023 and would appreciate any information you could supply.
Big Cat Rescue in Tampa is still closed to the general public due to COVID since big cats can and have contracted it and some have died in facilities around the world. We are not taking chances by allowing visitors in and exposing our keepers and cats. As long as COVID is a thing we will not reopen. You can watch for updates on the website at BigCatRescue.org
Opened back up anytime soon?
We continue to be closed to the general public. However, we have a limited ability to provide small private tours. Donors of $500 or more per year may schedule to come with one additional guest. Donors of $1000 or more may bring three guests with them. All guests must be at least 10 years of age. Our tour guides are vaccinated and we ask that you and any guests be vaccinated as well. If you experience any COVID symptoms in the ten days prior to your tour please contact us to reschedule. Masks are optional. Do not bring any pets with you (may seem obvious but it happens.) To schedule a visit email Howard.Baskin@BigCatRescue.org.
We can only provide in person tours to a small number of donors we have invested in ramping up our virtual options, such as our LIVE webcams where you can view the cats live and chat with people who love big cats. Our cameras are at https://bigcatrescue.org/cams/ and see our virtual options at BigCatRescue.org/VR
Only for our larger donors of $500 or more on private tours.
