Dehradun, Dec 22 (PTI) Two smugglers were arrested along with five leopard skins and other animal parts in Haridwar, police today said.

Somwari Lal and Jodh Singh, both residents of Uttarkashi district were arrested yesterday when following a tip-off at Chandichowk area.

On checking their bags, five skins, teeth and bones of leopards were recovered, police said adding that the smugglers had purchased skins and other parts of leopards from some Nepali citizens in Uttarkashi and had come to Haridwar to sell them to a person from New Delhi.

They also admitted their involvement in illegal trading of wildlife organs for a long time.
