Cat Updates
Nirvana has gone back outside. See the Facebook Live Video Replays below.
In captivity these highly intelligent cats can get bored easily. One of our biggest challenges is keeping their minds and bodies active. It is amazing how their mental and emotional health impacts their physical health. Therefore, we take alleviating boredom very seriously. Moving cats around takes a lot of people quite a bit of time. However, it is important, so the keepers and interns view those tasks as vital and tackle the hard work with a smile every time. Most cats really enjoy getting to check out new territory. Gabrielle (a.k.a. Gabby) and Priya are no exception.
- Priya has access to the empty cage by the tunnel.
- Gabby has been given access to the section of Priya‘s cage that has the tunnel to vacation in it.
NOTE: Things like this is where our cage design comes in quite handy. With the cages built in sections connected by doors and tunnels(above ground), we can safely shift the cats around giving them new territory to investigate.

Karma’s Foster Kitten Update
TODAY will be the last day in the Cabana for Luke and Leia, as they will be headed back to the ASPCA on Tuesday night. Sweetie’s kittens are not quite ready to go to the Cabana yet as they must weigh a pound before they get their vaccines. I am working on getting someone else in the Cabana for everyone until the little guys are ready.

VIDEO: Nikita vs waterbowl 2017 01 23
By Susann
Nikita wants to play with her water bowl. She also has another water bowl in her roofed section. Notice how she didn’t even drink from it once it was filled. How typical cat can you get?

Please Vote For Big Cat Rescue & Help Our Rehab Bobcats!!!
Last year the online votes of over 9000 supporters won us over $50,000 toward the $350,000 expansion of our bobcat rehab area we are currently building. The 2017 Valspar PGA TOUR Volunteer Challenge contest is now underway – please help us win again to fund the construction by voting just once and then asking your friends and family to vote as well.
Big Cat Rescue will get $1 for every vote we receive of the first 10,000 votes cast for the tournament; votes after that will help us win a portion of the $65,000 in prize money!
You can only vote ONCE; please don’t try to vote more than once. The final day to vote is March 11. Contest is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada only.
VOTE HERE: votecats.com
Look for Big Cat Rescue and click on SELECT. Fill out the form that pops up and is used to confirm you only vote once and submit. Over 9000 supporters voted last year and no spam or unwanted mail resulted from the form.
A Validation Email should show up in your email but there may be a delay. Please click on it to confirm your vote. Don’t worry if you do not receive the email – your vote will still count.
Thanks so much for helping us help the tiny orphaned bobcat kittens. Please pass this email on to anyone you think would share your concern for them.
