We had new volunteer orientation today. Learn how YOU can volunteer http://bigcatrescue.org/get-involved/ OR, if you’d like to take the online version of our actual keeper training we created for our on-site volunteers you can do so at ZooCollege.com It is open to all ages and all education levels. It is $9 per month, cancel any time. There are three FREE LESSONS you can take with no obligation. Go check it out.
Joseph Lion didn’t want to eat in the rain today, so we will try him again later.
Keepers stayed on today and are working on getting a cage ready for Hoover tomorrow as the vet said he’ll probably be allowed to go back to an earthen floor.
Seth made it to the top of his den. Butt and tail hanging off the side so much he looked like he was going to slide off backwards. But he was so happy and proud of himself <3 Silly boy! ~Keeper LaurenB

VIDEO – Morning Walkabout Checking on the cats after a rain
Each day that Carole does a Facebook Live video she asks a question and someone who answers it correctly wins a prize. So, go to Facebook and Like our Facebook Page and choose to get notifications of our live videos. Then participate in the contests, join in conversations in the comments area, too. Be sure to book mark BigCatRescue.org/win which is where you will post your answer to qualify for a future prize if you are the first one to get the correct answer.
Question: What is the best page on our website that best explains why caotive breeding hurts conservation?
Winner: Melissa has kindly passed the prize to the next purr-son in line. I’ll be right back with that name.
Winner’s Chosen Prize: We will come back and post it here as soon as we know which prize was chosen.
The Valspar Tournament has 11,558 votes total and of those 10,414 are votes for Big Cat Rescue. THANK YOU EVERYONE, for keeping the votes and shares going. If we can all keep up this momentum the cats stand a good chance of winning the next leg of the contest which could really make a big difference.
Again, THANK YOU for getting the cats this far. Please, know your efforts ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!! We are really excited about the possibility of the cats winning this next round! With YOUR continued help, they can!
Do you think the cats could get another 300 votes before midnight?
If you could share this link with one person this evening that cats could get another 300 votes before midnight. VoteCats.com
Today’s Big Cat Challenge is just for fun. EVERYONE, who finds Seth January 29th gets a free hi-resolution digital photo of Seth Tiger (LOL, his face, not his tail). When YOU find Seth, email firstname.lastname@example.org and I will reply with your hi-res photo of Seth.
Where’s Waldo, Oops I Mean, Where’s Seth
Seth is excellent at playing hide and seek and other viewers have caught some interesting photos of him behind the foliage at various levels of difficulty. Have a good day! Shawna
This enclosure Seth is in has about 2 acres of space. It has clearings, lake access, two BIG dens, a roofed section, a massive non-roofed section, climbing platforms, and a good sized jungle like area. Seth has learned how to be an expert at hiding. However, the Cam Opps at Explore.org/bigcatrescue are really skilled at finding him, well at finding his tail anyway 😉
Note to Shawna: THANK YOU, Shawna, for sending this photo from Priti, one of the PAWSOME viewers at Explore.org/bigcatrescue
Note to Viewers: Do you want more “Where’s Waldo” type challenges?
This is our online gift shop that helps support the cats, the sanctuary, and the mission to end the abuse and exploitation of big cats and their cubs.
