Big Cat Updates

SUMMARY:  ACTION ALERT, 40% Chakra bracelet, Joseph’s letter to management, Manny’s adorable shirt,

Keeper Devin Saari’s Coordinator Report for Wednesday, 1/10/2018

We were a bit short handed today but everyone worked super hard so that we could get everything done!

We had two private tours and two educational tours today. Edith and Mike both stayed late so that they would help with the educational tours!

All the cats on property got snacks today because Panacur has now been finished and Brittany stayed late to help feed them.

Michael stayed late to back up a 3 pm tour so that Romina could finish food prep in the afternoon!

Michael and Brittany both got operant sign offs today.

Marie did the cicle cats.

The door on the human cage at the gift shop was spray painted so that it looks nice for the guests

There was a water delivery today.

 ACTION ALERT

NEED YOUR CALLS AND EMAILS!

The Martin County Fairgrounds in Florida is once again hosting an exploitative circus act with big cats tomorrow. Fair Manager Jay Spicer told us last year that he would not have big cats again after a large number of people contacted him to let him know it’s cruel to force tigers to perform in circus acts. He did not keep his word.

One of the Circus Pages tigers attacked the handler in 2015 in front of dozens of school children at a fair in Pensacola. This group poses a safety risk to patrons.

Please contact Jay Spicer and politely let him know big cats do not belong in circuses! jay@martincountyfair.com or call 772.220.3247

THANK YOU for speaking up for these voiceless tigers!

 Letter To Management

January 11, 2018

Dear Sir/Madam:

What is this rumor I hear about somebody coming to cut off my dreads? I’m not happy about this at all.

That Dr. Justin better not show up here with Pokey! I have a sign posted on my enclosure telling him he is NOT welcome here.

If he tries to cut off my dreads, we will have a big problem.

I am the King and have the last word around here – and don’t you forget it!

Sincerely, Joseph Lion

(Sent via Lori D. Secretary to the Cats)
