Petting Our Hybrid Cats

Published on Jan 12, 2018 – We have gotten many comments and questions about petting our hybrid cats. Although we do not allow any contact with any of our big and small cats, we experimented with a scratcher to see if they miss or want to be petted. Let’s see what happened!

Pool Restoration Project for Kali Tigress.

The concrete tiger pools are on a pumping system that constantly drains and refills the pools.  That way the water is always clean and cool.  The tigers are pretty rough on their pools so the guys are often found repairing or replacing the pools.

Kali broker her pool so it is Victor, the BCR fixer Man to the rescue!!

Kali’s pool had been leaking. It was drained to look for cracks.

Several cracks and holes were found on the side walls. She loves to take her ball in the pool and bat it around.  The tiger boomer balls are big and quite heavy so when a tiger repeatedly whacks them into the sides of the pools it does eventually cause breaks and cracks.

Resurfacing the pool.

The pool resurfaced and tinted.

Kali takes her first dip in her resurfaced pool.

Your donations to the sanctuary help us do ongoing projects like pool repairs.  https://BigCatRescue.org/donate

NOTE: If you want help setting up or need photos for your project please contact lawanna.mitchell@bigcatrescue.org

Did You Know?  Here at Big Cat Rescue, literally 100% of your donations are spent directly ON THE CATS!!! We are able to adhere to that strict policy because the other sanctuary expenses, administrative expenses, salaries etc come out of tour fees and other sources of income. We are extremely serious about donations being used JUST FOR THE CATS!

Because of adhering to that strict policy regarding donations, and all of the other ways Big Cat Rescue is transparent in our operations, we have earned Charity Navigator‘s highest 4-star rating for “sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.” Here is a quote directly from Charity Navigator’s rating letter “Only 7% of the charities we rate have received at least 4 consecutive 4-star evaluations.” EVERY YEAR since we were first evaluated by them in 2010.
