It was a fantastic day today! Lots of great volunteers, happy tour guests and lots of fun was had.
We got lots of projects completed. The Holleys built a new platform in a tiger enclosure. The cooler was stripped down and emptied. We added more shelves to food prep. Volunteers got all sorts of sign-offs for feeding, cleaning, operant conditioning, and Keeper tour.
Des cleaned off the porch at the Keeper Cafe and cleaned the tables!!
The cats were very active during tour times, I even heard a guest say “this is the best day ever” It made me smile ?

Enrichment is an important part of the day for our cats, ensuring they stay mentally and physically stimulated, to eliminate boredom and encourage natural behaviors. Unfortunately as the cats that call Big Cat Rescue home, are all captive bred rescues, they can never be released into the wild. Therefore, it is our job to make sure they stay occupied. Watch as MaryAnn, Zucari, Apollo, and Thurston take on some pumpkins!
