Angie Gabor’s Coordinator Report for Saturday 6/17

Today was a very hot day. The interns did a great job in the heat, they mowed all around the hospital and around Seth and Andy’s enclosures.

It’s been noted that Reise has not been coming out to eat in the AM to the far lockout. She seems more receptive to eat in the lockout closest to the big den. The wire has been moved to that lockout.

Really busy day for tours.

We received 5 new bat houses from an Eagle Scout.

Picky cats were extra picky today. Keepers had to make multiple feeding trips for them today.

Removed lots of ants from the rehab bobcat’s antenna box by the sand cat gate. Sprayed the tree with ant repellent and sealed the opening.

HEADS UP: Over the next several days you will begin seeing some really fun photos from Keeper MaryLou and Keeper Desmond. Both of them have sent in SEVERAL FUN PHOTOS.

Carole’s Note: Today, as Angie and I were discussing a really huge drainage project for Cameron and Zabu, I noticed that she had been all chewed up around her neck by bugs. She said she’d forgotten to use her bug soap yesterday and went on to say how amazing it is. I told her we should stock it for the volunteers. If anyone wants to send the volunteers some it’s called Shoofly Soap (and there is a spray for your clothes, as the biting insects will avoid the soaped areas and go for the fabric covered ones) and is from blackberrycreeksoaps.com 715 277 3257

Carole had quite a surprise today. Viewer Lee came to visit the cats and Carole. Carole was blown away by the gift Lee had made! You have simply got to see this throw quilt. I cannot imagine the time that went into making this beautiful gift.

Lee also donated a case of beautiful Big Cat Mugs she had made. Carole is modeling one for us. Carole, obviously loved her surprise!

Dad’s can be hard to shop for because the say they have everything they need.

I hope you still have your father, and if not, I hope the memories him are as lovely as mine. Maybe the father in your life is your husband, who is the father of your children…be they human or cats. Whoever he is, HIS day of celebration is this weekend.
