Monday, June 3, 2019, 22-year-old Running Bear Bobcat will see the vet.

Victor needs to put some finishing touches on the awesomeness he did in the Cabana, so the kittens will not be in there tomorrow.

Coordinator Report – Kathryn Stapleton

Very hot day but we had wonderful volunteers come out to take care of the cats!!

Thanks to Rich Bluder, Rebecca Williams, Sarah Copel, Candice Casey, Deidra Ritchie, Mai Richardson, and Barbie for feeding and cleaning.

The interns were everywhere today. Tours, feeding, cleaning, projects, and chores. Thanks to Dylan Lavigne, Tanya Chute, Brooklynne Dillon, Ashley Tait, Lexi Agri, Kate O’Gorman, and Monisha Prema !! Today was Tanya’s last working day. We will certainly miss her.

The interns cleaned up Dryden and Kewlona’s cage today.

That’s it for me

Foster Kittens

It is kitten season and lots of kittens are coming through the Foster Kitten Program at Big Cat Rescue.  We have updated our Amazon Wish List with lots of kitten toys.  If you would like to help out with our foster kitten program some new toys for the kittens would be greatly appreciated.

Our Amazon Wish List is found at Amazon Wish List

If you do use Amazon to purchase items for the kittens or for yourself (who doesn’t?) the EASIEST way you can help the cats is to sign up for Amazon Smile and choose Big Cat Rescue as your charity. Then, when you go to Amazon through your Smile account, everything is the same on Amazon but a portion of each purchase you make goes to the cats. Letter To Management

June 1, 2019

Dear Sir/Madam:

When people come by to visit me, I try to hide and stalk them. I love to give everyone an adrenaline rush when I jump out! However, my bright, shining eyes give me away a lot of the time. Therefore, I request a pair of sunglasses that will cover my eyes and not give away my hiding place. This is really taking all the fun out of stalking. They need to be the kind that don’t look like mirrors, because a certain jaguar currently on Funcation would probably spend most of his time looking at my sunglasses and preening.

Which brings me to my next request. Could you please put Manny on vacation somewhere else? I am sick and tired of listening to him talk about how handsome he is and how people swoon and faint when they see him. He is not the only male here, you know – but he sure thinks he is. Honestly, if his head gets any bigger they will have to widen the door to his enclosure and give him a bigger den.

And last, but not least, I keep hearing about certain cats being near the Outback. Listen, I like steak, too. And I love those onions. Why was I not given the choice to be located near there? I understand that only tigers are back there. This is species discrimination; I don’t want to have to contact our attorneys. Please have my den moved there ASAP.

Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Jinx
(Sent via Lori D., Secretary to the Cats)

You go Jinx! Keep those letters to the management coming until you get a vacation @ the Outback and some steak and onions!

So happy to hear that the Savannah’s get bloodsicles too…they love the wild stuff too.

All the cats are SO lucky to be at BCR, right down to the kittens that are cuter than cute can be. There’s nothing cuter than a kitten, as Ash and Cinder show us every day.

Thank you for ALL you do, BCR, every last one of you.
