Big Cat Updates

Kalie Tiger refused to go into the transport cage so she can move to Tiger Lake. So far, she is having no part of it.

Rehab kittens Ash and Cinder were flea treated today. Ash weighed in at 5 pounds 5 ounces and Cinder was 4 pounds 11 ounces.

Great Thursday!

The Vacation was mowed and weed-eated. Interns Dylan, Fred, Kate, Erin, Lexi, Elizabeth, Justin, Erin, & Monisha, as well as Red Shirts Alyx Green & Stephanie Garcia also raked up a bunch of the grass piles & leaves around the trees. They did a great job cleaning up the inside.

Kali did not move out of Vacation today. She refused to get into the transport cage, even with Kathryn and Afton trying all kinds of things, all day, to talk her into it. She is still locked in the roof section so she will hopefully go into the transport this weekend.

Stephanie Chaiser & Abbey Rivett fixed the bottom panel of the safety gate door to the vacation. Dylan and Erin A. cleaned out one of Amanda’s pools so Victor can work on it. Candy Couser & Mark Mira did cicle cats today & Candy did supplement cats.

The interns and Randy Groves also worked on the big center cage some more. It is almost done, but all along the tour path needs to be cleaned up too. Justin & Elizabeth did an epic stick pick up at the end of the day!

Keisha has access to her whole enclosure now 🙂

Jamie’s Bobcat Rehab Update

Rehab kittens Ash and Cinder were flea treated today. Ash weighed in at 5 pounds 5 ounces and Cinder was 4 pounds 11 ounces. Kittens in the rehab program require topical treatment for fleas until 14 weeks of age. This was Ash and Cinder’s last topical treatment. They will graduate to oral medication on their next treatment.

Punkin, the Rehab Squirrel Sees Dr. Justin

Punkin had a vet visit this morning. His facial swelling has decreased and his antibiotics were changed. So far so good. Maybe another week of observation then he will be set free once again. (Punkin fell out of his nest when he was a baby and his mother never came for him. He was rehabilitated and released as a juvenile but showed up last week with a very swollen jaw. It looked as though he may have been bitten by something.)
