A notice from Holly:
A few days ago, I noticed an Australian seller had listed three whole leopard skins on eBay. They are live auctions which are due to sell TONIGHT. I’ve reported the auctions to eBay TWICE and normally, auctions for skins like this would be taken off without hesitation. But these haven’t and now they’re going to sell within hours.
In desperation, I sent a third, detailed report explaining to eBay and practically threatening them, but don’t know if that will have any effect either. So I thought if you have an email group of pals (who may be eBay members), getting others to report and/or complaint about these 3 auctions may help. Here they are:
1774: Leopard Skin Rug L 160cm – (eBay item 130174550926 end time Nov-17-07 23:00:00 PST)
1773: Leopard Skin & Other Fur Rug 180x190cm – (eBay item 130174550907 end time Nov-17-07 23:00:00 PST)
1772: Leopard Skin Floor Rug. L 250cm – (eBay item 130174550881 end time Nov-17-07 23:00:00 PST)
Though I commonly send reports of illegal sales after the fact to the proper authorities, I’d much rather see these auctions deleted before getting any bids. So perhaps if you can forward this info to other big cat advocates, the prospect of multiple reports/complaints might make a dent with eBay.
Thanks very much for your help,… ~Holly
