Lion cub found dead near Gadhiya

RAJKOT: A lion cub said to be three to four months old was found dead near Gadhiya village in Dhari taluka of Amreli district. The cub died in Tulsishyam forest range.

The carcass was found in an agricultural field near Gadhiya village on Wednesday. A postmortem was conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

“We found that there was a bleeding from the animal’s body and its mouth was open. The cub may have died while fighting with other lions. We have also seen the paw marks of lions at the site,” deputy conservator of forests Anshuman Sharma said.
