Tallahassee, Fl- Recent stories surrounding pet pythons set loose in Florida, are giving Tampa’s Big Cat Rescue big support in the push for a statewide exotic pet ban bill.
Republican Senator Bill Posey and Republican Representative Ralph Poppell announced today, they will publicly support the efforts of the “Python Bill” in a joint press conference tomorrow. The bill is still in drafting stages, but would ultimately ban the breeding and selling of dangerous exotic animals as pets. The bill will not support the removal of exotic animals from existing homes.
Big Cat Rescue and Humane USA PAC have been integral to the formation of the bill, and their efforts will be a key focus of the news conference.
