Big Cat Updates

Dr. Justin was here today and checked up on some of the cats. He then saw Cinder, the baby rehab bobcat for bloodwork. He also saw the visiting bobcat, Bobbi. Bobbi has gained 2 pounds since she arrived here on May 4th.

Coordinator Report – Sue Messineo

Wonderful Wednesday! We had wonderful volunteers today and as always, our awesome Interns jumped in to help. We were able to get some feeding and cleaning sign-offs done. Our 4 newest Interns, Erin, Elizabeth, Vito, and Kate scrubbed the platforms and dens in the nice big enclosure that our 2 Caracals will be moving into.

Tanya and Dylan trained other new Interns in small cat cleaning. Mazz and Sue R. finished food prep by lunchtime. New senior keeper Mary got to train in big cat cleaning.

The cats all thanked Marie and Cindy for handing out frosty cicles on this very hot day. Redshirt June, Tanya, Mazz, Vito and Elizabeth raked, did weed eating, and cleaned up the Caracals new enclosure. Interns Lexi, Brooklynne, and Dylan helped with afternoon tours. Thank you all for working so hard on a hot day.

Cinder, the baby rehab bobcat sees Dr. Justin, Also, in Windsong Memorial Hospital Dr. Justin is here this afternoon to do diagnostics on Bobbi Bobcat. She is a visiting cat from another facility who doesn’t want to be named. She was sent here on 5/4/19 because she was losing weight and was too thin. She’s stabilized here, but now we are doing diagnostics to find out if there is anything more we can do for her.
