Big Cat Updates

Tigers are moving to new enclosures, see below.
Hoover Tiger is still in the recovery cage and will still be still for a while.
Hoover’s toe was sent out for analysis. The results indicate that the area was invaded with squamous cell carcinoma. We will continue to monitor him for any reoccurrence.
Recent updates tell us it will now be August before the Guatemala boys arrive.
CONGRATULATIONS!! Bonnie Farago is now a Master Keeper!
Armani Leopard is home from Funcation and Sapphire Tiger is home from Vacation.
Jinx Leopard is out in Funcation and Jasmine Tiger is out in Vacation.

NEW –> Tiger Line Up

Dutchess Tiger Announces the new Tiger Line-up:

Hoover will move to the three cages by the Enrichment Center, so we have a Nest cam on him and can reach him better for observation and his meds and food.
Amanda will move into the next 3 cages going north from where she is.
Sapphire will have the cages down close to the tour path at the furthest north end. This way tours can see Kali, Sapphire and then whoever is on Vacation Rotation without going down “Tiger Outback” and bothering Amanda and Hoover.
Priya is staying where she is.
Jasmine will be on Tiger Row across from her after VR.
Keisha Tiger is in the center cages of Tiger Row.
Dutchess is in the Tiger Lake cage closest to the Gift Shop.

We still need to completely go over the Tiger Lake enclosure closest to Food Prep doing a few upgrades and landscaping before we decide who goes in there.

Bobcat Rehab – Sky & her Babies Overnight Report

Good Friday Morning,

Sky and the kittens were very quiet overnight. With the rain, they were in the den a lot. During a dry time, they did come out to nurse and nap on the grass.

Later it started to rain again so they went back inside the den. They were only out one other time, Sky wandered around checking things out and the babies wrestled and climbed on the logs. They really seem to love playing on the logs, they get on them a lot.

I saw one of the babies wrestling with one log and biting it, lol. So cute! They are also finding pieces of bark or small sticks and playing with those too. Just adorable! They were out this morning after it got light, giving us precious and gorgeous views! 🙂
