Nevada: Owner of bobcat that mauled dogs has been found

James Steiner
Red Rock, NV

The owner of a bobcat that mauled three dogs in a Red Rock area neighborhood, has been found.

Washoe County animal control officers say the owner lives in the Antelope Valley area, and last month applied for a permit to have the bobcat.

The animal’s name is Katrina, and she is thirteen months old.

The owner has had her since she was seven weeks.

He told county workers she was tied up on a leash Thursday night, and somehow got tangled in the bushes and got away.

He has contacted the dogs’ owners and plans on taking care of their vet bills and any other losses.

One dog, Ace, was put down after suffering life-threatening injuries.
