Six-week-old pair of Sumatran tiger cubs got their names and have been officially included in the tiger exhibit at Ragunan Zoo, South Jakarta.

“We named the male cub ‘Pudji’ and the female one ‘Wati’,” the zoo’s public relation officer Wahyudi Bambang said Saturday. He said that the names were taken from Ragunan Zoo chief’s name Enny Pudjiwati.

The newborns were earlier quarantined together with their very protective that did not allow anyone go near them.

The Sumatran tiger is classified as an endangered species and is protected by law.

With the two new additions, Ragunan Zoo now has 34 Sumatran tigers.
