Sharon Guynup’s article, The Tigers Next Door

Sharon Guynup’s article, The Tigers Next Door, in the 12.2019 issue of National Geographic is so well researched, documented and written that Carole wants everyone to read it. The images by her partner, Steve Winter, show tigers in places where you might never expect them to be.

We want you to have a hard copy of the magazine because it makes a compelling case for why we need the Big Cat Public Safety Act to pass. It might just become the best tool you can have to change hearts, minds, and laws.

Kristine’s Bobcat Rehab Overnight Report

MALACHITE, ASH and CINDER – During the afternoon, Cinder was in the front section, while Ash was wandering around in the back section. Cinder lounged on the swinging shelf for a while, watching everything going on around her and Ash watched the pipe opening in the back section, then he would wander around checking things out and then come back to the pipe opening, lol.

After a while, Lauren came to feed them, give them fresh water and clean out their enclosure, so Cinder took off towards the back section for a while. After Lauren left, Cinder and Ash made their way to the front section to check things out.

They wandered around, then Ash went to the middle section and stayed there for a while. Cinder jumped up on the den and watched things for a bit, then she got down and went to the back section with Ash for a bit, where they checked out the pipe again and wandered around the platform, then they both made their way to the front section.

When they got there they saw a squirrel running around and stalked it for a while. They went back and forth, between all sections of their enclosure, just roaming around and watching things around them. As it got dark they were still wandering around, pacing the fence and looking for Malachite.

A little later they both came into the left front section, to their spot on the grass by the pipe and cuddled up together for a long nap. Much later, they woke up and roamed around the front section for a while, watched for Malachite and then they went to the back section to play and then they disappeared somewhere back there, lol. As it started to get light, they came back to the front section to wander around and wandered around the middle section too. As I write this, they are in the front section stalking the squirrel in the tree, lol. They are so cute!!! 🙂

***I saw sweet Malachite for a minute on Ash and Cinder’s cam. He was running through his front section. So cute!!! 🙂

I wish all of you a blessed day!
Warm wishes, Kristine Metzner
