Coordinator Report – Afton Tasler

Cameron, Hoover, Andre, and Frosty all ate well today! Interns got specialty tour sign-offs today.

All of the interns were out on tours, so Steph C. and myself did food prep and Alyssa W. double checked us. Beth went out and cut the new growth on trees around the property. She got the ones around the tour path and in the cougar section.

Steph C. and Jeff put all of the benches back around the tour path from the wedding. Steph C. and I removed Des’s pumpkin and put hay in a bunch of little cat dens. Hutch thought the hay was the best thing ever!!! We were cracking up watching him have the best time!!

Baby Bobcat Has A Name

They named her Autumn!

In case you missed her story: Shout out to everyone involved in saving this precious bobcat’s life! A husband and wife rescued her from the side of the road in Buhl, AL and called Big Cat Rescue. We called every bobcat rehabber in Alabama until Orange Beach (4.5 hrs from Buhl) coordinated with Alisa from Second Nature Wildlife Rehab who was much closer to get this little one the vet care she desperately needed. Remembering Hoover Tiger’s Rescue

Hoover the tiger was rescued from the Peruvian circus and brought to Big Cat Rescue in 2016 with collaborating efforts of the Animal Defenders International. Watch some behind the scenes footage of the circus, his seizure, and his journey to his forever home.

Safari Day: Wildcat Walkabout

Big Cat Rescue hosted its annual charity event called the Wildcat Walkabout. This event supported conservation projects in the wild for lions, leopards, jaguars, cougars, and black-footed cats.
