The Global March for Lions took place in 62 cities around the world. It was an incredible success. To see so many people marching for one species, Lions in South Africa, was an amazing experience. Thousands of people protested the cruelty involved in the Canned Hunting industry and we showed our government that the world is watching and waiting for a ban on this toxic industry. Watch the Capetonians and friends march to Parliament in this short video by Hein Ungerer.

For South African citizens, these people around the world marched for us, for our lions, to end this shame and this cruelty to our most majestic lion. Now it is time for us to stand together and make ourselves heard like never before.
On the 10th August, 2014 we have World Lion Day. We will march again around the world. Put it in your diary and try to make one of the marches. It was one of the most amazing days of my life. I have never experienced anything like it before. It was so very special and you should be there in August to march with us.
