Coordinator Report – Becky Gagliardo “a.k.a. Momma Becky”
Great day today. Weather was great and had lots of guests. We had a hardworking workgroup that did a great job on the empty enclosure across from Gabby. Thanks to Steph for leading that project.
Lots of volunteers came out today to work hard for the cats. Mary Jerome was my rockstar of the day. She fed, cleaned, did food prep, and helped with evening chores. All of the volunteers and interns did a great job today.
All the cats ate well except for Cameron, even Frosty joined the clean plate club today.
Cleaning brushes were gone thru today and many were thrown away, as they were totally worn out and their bristles were falling out.
That’s it for me.

NOTE: What is a workgroup? Various companies, church groups, or organizations will bring a whole group to come work for a day on a specific project for the cats. These groups work hard and make a difference for the cats. If your organization or company is interested or a workday to help the cats please contact Jennifer at education@bigcatrescue.org
NOTE: Cleaning Brushes, what are they used for? Every day, 365 days a year, rain or shine, the cats’ feeding tiles are scrubbed, sanitized, and rinsed. Also, every single day, all the water bowls and buckets get dumped scrubbed, sanitized, rinsed, and refilled. All of the cats have multiple water bowls because our cages are built in sections and every section has at least one water bowl or bucket. So as you can imagine we wear out scrub brushes pretty fast. It is another one of those little extra expenses that really adds up by the end of the year. It’s one of those expenses most people don’t think about.

The Calls of the Wild are truly one of the MOST IMPORTANT things YOU can each do to help stop the abuse and exploitation of big cats and their babies. Lawmakers don’t see comments on social media posts, they don’t even see most petitions, however, they do take notice of phone calls that YOU make to their offices!
Therefore, if you are truly serious about wanting to see the abuse and exploitation stopped than you will get motivated, and stay motivated to make those Calls of the Wild, EVERY WEEK, at BigCatAct.com.
Phone2Action Weekly Update
October 5 – October 12
As you can see from this Phone2Action update the number of you all out there making the calls have dramatically dropped in recent weeks. PLEASE, make those calls and help your friends and family make them as well. Start a calling tree or text message tree where you gather a group of contacts and remind and encourage each other, every week, to make those calls. When you get together with your friends for lunch or coffee take a few minutes and make those calls together.
We cannot accomplish this goal alone. WE NEED YOU!!!
